Getting Salty in LA

After the After-Party: Robb, Brax, Matt (l to r)

After the After-Party: Robb, Brax, Matt (l to r)

I joined Brax here in LA at his cool backyard studio to record the final guitar tracks for the upcoming Salty project. The first night we kicked back and listened to the existing tracks. The next night we recorded all day before heading out to the Viper Room to check out Samantha. Here’s a decent review of the show from Jam Base.

The highlight of the night for me was, at the after-party, meeting Joan Jones (formerly of Sun 60) who sang back-up with Sam on-stage. She was super-cool, down to earth and very friendly.

We caught up with college bud and fraternity brother Matt Nelson who was in LA on a business trip. Matt joined us at the after-party showed with a pal of his, Bobby, a former Croatian pop singer, and we proceeded to check out several other places around the strip and Hollywood.

During the trip I got a chance to work with the talented and ultimately cool Mr. Tony Brucco. Tony helped Brax and I dial-in some great guitar tones while providing some smart production asisstance to us.

We got a lot of work done, but we also had plenty of time to have fun.  We completed guitar tracks on almost every song and we’re closing in on a finished product. I can’t wait until its ready to share.
