Brax
One of my closest and dearest friends, Brax Cutchin, is a former college buddy, fraternity brother, roommate, and band mate. After 5 years of playing together here in the southeast, Brax relocated to San Diego, CA and wasted no time in writing songs and getting a band together. Not long after he had settled into his west coast digs I received a package from Brax filled with demos of new songs he had written for his first album.
Brax’s freshman offering, Thru, was recorded in Paul Waroff’s Big Fish studios. Brax flew me out to San Diego, treated me to my first-ever sushi dinner (I have since become totally hooked), and gave me one of the greatest experiences of my musical life. I had the honor of working with the highly esteemed Ben Moore (producer, engineer) and, of course, Brax as the songwriter, singer, rhythm guitarist and executive producer.
Thru was a very successful endeavor: Brax received nominations for two San Diego Music Awards in 2000: “Best Rock” and “Best Pop Album“.
I wrote guitar parts for almost all of the album, and my work is featured prominently throughout. The songs I play on are listed below – click the arrow icon to play ‘em!
