Mike Bedard, the talented drummer who played the kit on three of my songs with the “Salty” project, is playing several live dates with last year’s American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.
I met Mike through good friend and musical collaborator Brax Cutchin. Mike is a super-cool fellow and is an amazingly talented musician. Though drums are his instrument of choice, Mike is a gifted songwriter and singer as well.
On his website, Brax has posted Mike’s tour schedule with Jordin Sparks.

The K Walker Band played its first gig at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta last night – and it was a great show. Thanks to Smith’s for letting us play, and extra-special thanks to my friends who made it out on a Tuesday night (Kim, Chuck, Todd, Steve, and of course, Jodi among others).
I also want to mention that Parrish, the sound guy at Smith’s, did a phenomenal job of running sound for us. He ran us through the quickest and best sound check I’ve ever had, and the result sounded amazing.
We were the first of three acts (3 bands for 3 bucks, as it was billed). The second act was the very original and very inspiring Kurt Reifler. This guy and his drummer (Justin) were the only players, but they more than filled the space and truly rocked the house. Kurt has a style that seemed reminiscent of Jeff Buckley and, not just because there were only two-piece, the White Stripes influence was there.
A great night: lots of good music, drinks and fun. Look for pictures from the show to be posted very soon.
